How do I generate ideas?

One of the most asked questions of me is how I generate ideas and where do I get them. So I decided to start really answering these questions, but in video format. I may be transitioning to video for the time being to try to boost my engagement on my YouTube channel. Also because typing up posts can take me hours or days and videos are a little less time involved.

But also because I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a long time. I am going to be sharing more videos based around my work, but those will be exclusive to Ko-Fi in hopes of me being able to keep the electricity on in the house, because let’s face it – giving everything away for free, doesn’t help me or my family eat.

I understand that many won’t be too happy about that, but I do hope you understand that I need to finally push more into the realm of paid work outside of writing books since right now, I’m not earning but a few dollars per month from my book sales. None of us are having it easy in this economy, but authors and creatives are hurt even worse since we have no dedicated pay unless we have a FT job. And since I am at home tending mom and older brother all day, every day, I don’t have that. Which means I need to do what I need to do to ensure I don’t end up homeless, and earn an income. However I can.

If you’d like to join my ko-fi page, I will be trying to post more there, and you can check out the tiers! I would love to have you. Or, if you can spare anything a donation is always appreciated. I hope for nothing more than for you to have a wonderful holiday season.

So here is a response to that question, and I give you my top ways of spurring ideas in myself too.

If you like this content, consider a small donation.

Donations help me keep the lights on, heat running, food in the belly, and keep my sites going. Even a small donation can go a long way, and I cannot begin to express my gratitude enough for anything you can help with. As a FT caregiver to my elderly mother and older brother who have a lot of health struggles, I am struggling these days. I have a couple tiers up to check out as well if you’d like to sign up for that, instead of a single donation. More will come as I think of stuff, or I get feedback on what I should add.
