I was thinking I’d record this as a video, but I’m not even gonna bother to try. That requires sitting down in front of the camera, recording a video, and sacrificing something. Usually writing time. Then having to find to time to edit it to include my watermark of website, and then uploading. I don’t even edit my videos as much as other people because I’m all, meh time-consuming, not going for professional, and that’s not the point right now.
Right now, I mainly film them to get myself used to being on camera, and slowly offering more than just blogging. Sure, these take more time (blogs), but I also need silence for the videos. Not always easy here.
So, I thought I would update on where I’m at with a lot of stuff for you. And yes, I am still getting things done.
I’ll also re-mention a lot of this in case this is your first post you’re seeing about it, and we all know that people don’t tend to go back in time and watch old videos or read old posts. Everything we do online is THIS instant, and THIS post is ALL they are.
Silly. “I don’t have time to get to know someone!” So, why follow so many? Pull it back, pullllll it back. I did. Still try.
Finally messaged my neighbor back though she wrote me on Friday. Priorities.
So, let’s see. I had pulled all my work (digital books) to put my full name on the covers, which also require an update with the interior file. What I ended up doing for most situations was to just also make a completely new listing, so the old pen names weren’t accidentally connected with one of the other listings. Had an issue with that regarding Amazon specifically. Not going into it. But though I’d lose rankings and any reviews connected, I figured eh. Safer to make a new listing to wipe the board clean. Many authors will do it (traditional too) so I went, meh. I’ll go ahead and do it. Better now than deal with more issues later.
In some instances, I also ended up adjusting the covers of the books or making a new cover. Immortal Separation was one. I have done many covers on that story lemme tell ya.
Within a few weeks, I got all of my books down, changed over, and back up (many new listings overall). I did Amazon, Smashwords, Draft2Digital, and Google Books. I was also going to list many of my stories on my Ko-Fi store, but they don’t allow sexual matter and I don’t want to risk many of mine getting me in trouble so I for now put off what I’ll have up there.
After all my books were finished listing, I went ahead and started to do the boxed sets. I have my Dark Illusions Box set all done and ready for purchase on all the major retailers. I do plan to do the other series as well. For now, I just did the one. Because then I began the trek into the paperback territory.
Because of the shipping issues we’re all dealing with, I’ve been waiting on the first paperback proof to arrive since Friday. Before I can do others, I have to see that one in my hand. Not from me not knowing how Lulu books turn out – they’re really good quality – but because I tried a new method of inserting my own chapter heading graphic. So, I need to ensure it didn’t cause issue. It’s a full-page transparency image I created and sized to the page. If it works well, I may continue it. If not, no big. I’ll remove and just carry one. I tend to like cleaner interiors anyway. Just the way I’ve become. As nice as a lot of interesting tidbits (graphics) are inside physical books, it’s a waste of time and effort when I just wanna get the books up and out. More so right now since I’m updating them, lol.
Otherwise, I do have my template ready to copy/paste and have technically still been working on the other books. I have Dark Illusions: The Next Chapter – Extended Edition up and ready to send off for a proof. And now will be working on The Final Chapter.
Regarding writing projects – I am still writing. I ended up starting the Sorceress world and did I mention I was doing two different POVs? I dunno. I can’t remember. I’m not gonna go back in my own blogs to find it out, lol. BUT, I am. I’m not sure which I wanna pursue, which will be best, etc., etc., etc. Sooooooo what I’ve done is start the word in 3rd POV. Then went back and re-started writing the world in 1st POV. 2 different files, yes. I’m nuts, yes.
What I will do is have volunteers tell me just – which ya like best? One version? Or both versions? Simple. Don’t care about comments for writing “you should do this/that.” Just I like 1st better. I like 3rd better. I like them both. Worst part of it though is that in 3rd, I always limit details/setting in a big way. So they may not be there in 1st as much either, but they will definitely be missing in 3d.
What happens if peeps like ’em both? Welllllll/ You’ll think I’m really nutto if I say so right now soooo
And yeah, no worries. I will be asking for volunteers later. I wanna write a good few chapters, five, ten, don’t know. Then I’ll ask. Just enough that I feel the story really shows itself a bit, and my writing in each POV. So don’t worry about jumping up and down right now to get my attention.
