Today was a really good day worth of writing. I needed to pull myself away because I was very deep into the story. It’s funny because when I’m writing, I will feel sometimes that I’m literally writing nothing good. It’ll be this oddness where I’m thinking, ugh, I’m writing terrible, it’s so bland.

But then in edits, after the book has sat on the shelf a minute, then I pull it out and give it a read, it’s a different story. Then I’m going, “woah, I wrote this?” That’s why I’ve said plenty of times, no first draft is worthwhile. Just write it. Then you have a story to edit. The majority of the time I’m writing, my brain is critiquing it. Well this isn’t detailed enough. You’re describing it too much. You’re describing it too little. Wow, using the word said too much/too little. Stop using that look word. lol It is a whispering little mouse that is way too nitpicky.

So ya know . . . just write the book. Then you HAVE one to edit. lol
