Because of what Pyotr decided to do we’re getting to see both sides of the aftermath today.

I made it maybe halfway through my words today when I paused and struggled to figure out where I would go. One of those moments where I had a point A and a point B, but I couldn’t really see where to go between there. I listened last night to a podcast last night (this is the show linked at the bottom of the blog) from Holly Lisle on how to write middles, which ended up helping me.

Where I was at, was a place that I was thinking about just writing the scene as a sum up that led into another scene. Instead, I took the scene as they said in the show, “the interesting part,” and wrote it out versus it being summed up. So instead of having Kenley healed a few days later, I unpacked it (as Chuck Palahniuk calls it), and then wrote from just a few hours after The Alpha was there. Ended up being a decent scene that shows more of what they’re dealing with in the now. The landscape and environment.

Also ended up showing more of Kenley’s personality and abhorrence to anything “Alpha.”
