I apologize for republishing the exact post from yesterday. When I do these, I usually use the copy to preserve formatting, and was playing with some MailChimp connection stuff. Then hit publish, forgetting that it wasn’t the old post that I was updating, but I’d made a new post. So if you saw the exact replica from yesterday and went to click it then didn’t see it, I deleted the duplicate. Apologies for the awkwardness.
Today we have reached the part where Kenley is nearing the end. She is severely sick, dying, and The Alpha has just found her. The story is about to start rolling now. I’m about 11K in for my first week, I’m super happy about that, and this is when the story really begins.
Because Kenley has come face-to-face with The Alpha and she is alone with him. From what I wrote today, I think he purposely left his pack behind in this instance, to track her easier, and he knew he would encounter no resistance. I have the image in my head of him pacing their pack (Kenley’s) versus chasing. I mean if he knows who she is and didn’t wanna lose her–maybe he knew what was about to happen to her–then it’d make logical sense. Otherwise he places her in dangerous risk.
Being injured, his pack would naturally want to attack. It happens between alphas or strong personalities in the dog kingdom. When one is weak, others will pounce. It’s not with evil intent, but in their minds (animals) the weak must be removed. It can get out of hand without training if you’re dealing with a pack. So I think The Alpha (yes, he will soon have a name here) knows this and wants to ensure he is the first to deal with everything and the first to make sure Kenley is okay. Otherwise his pack members could potentially prove a problem.
After all, it is the pack he’s been trying to grow. Strong, intimidating, fierce. He WANTS that natural instinct in them. It’s just he’s now worried over Kenley, not in a personal way yet since he doesn’t know her. It occurred to me too just now. Maybe he’s doubting what he thinks is true as well. After all, it was only a feeling that said – this one. If what he feels abut Kenley is true, then he doesn’t need to protect her as naturally she’ll protect herself. BUT, for now, he’s playing it safe. That says he’s very intelligent and logical minded.
